Ed began his career in advertising, following a degree in Psychology from the University of Birmingham in the early 1990s. After studying a postgraduate degree in Journalism he worked for various print publications including the Manchester Evening News before joining the BBC's New Media team, where he worked on television, radio and early online media broadcasts as a creative and assistant producer. On leaving the BBC Ed worked for seven years as a freelance photographer and videographer, with clients including Manchester City Council, Salford University and Arts Council England. From 2012 until 2016 Ed worked as Digital Content Officer for the University of Manchester, making films and photographs. In his career Ed has won numerous awards for his writing, photography and digital media work. He has been published in journals and magazines across the world, and has exhibited artwork across the UK.
